The Kalico Kitchen was once named Smitty's Truck Stop and then the Cozy Inn in the Seventies. Since
August 9th, 1977 it has been transformed from the small diner it once was into the successful business
that it is today. In its early days it had a long counter top with the red covered barstools and a cash
register at the end. There was just enough room to see the cooks face through the opening of the kitchen.
Many changes were made to build it up to where it is now. Turning the old gas station into
an Ice Cream Parlor then tearing it down for additonal parking was just the beginning. An outdoor deck was added
and eventually the service area, kitchen and offices were expanded. Building on a Meat Market, Deli and Bakery to maintain
high quality food was a big part of the Kalico's continued success 6 years ago.
Its exciting to announce that we are still growing with our latest addition of CC-Cruisers Bike Rentals
and Motorized Bike Sales. There are many ideas out there that can still be explored; what will be next?
We take great pride in serving the best down home country food. The best advertising is by
word of mouth; many of you have helped us get to where we are today. Thank you.
We have become a non smoking establishment. Smoking is only allowed on our outdoor patios.
